FIVE members of the Oxford School of Gymnastics’ elite squad have reason to celebrate after they were selected to compete for Great Britain.
In July, Rebecca Brookes, Fran Groves and Freya Clempson will travel to Poland to represent Great Britain at the World Championships, while Chris Hale and Beth Davies will head for the same venue when they represent Great Britain at the European Team Championships in October.
Meanwhile, three gold medals at the National Acrobatic Championships rounded off the most successful season ever for members of the club which is based at Lord Williams’s School, Thame.
The club competes in the spectacular discipline of acrobatic gymnastics, wh-ich recently hit the headlines through the success of Spelbound on the hit TV show Britain’s Got Talent.
Over the last six months, the club’s gymnasts have competed at events ranging from regional to international and have performed at all levels of ability from developmental to elite.
Their hard work has been rewarded with a clutch of gold, silver and bronze medals including an unprecedented four British and National championship titles, selections to the British gymnastics squad and a huge number of South of England and regional medal winners.
