Witney triumphed in the first round of the Milton Keynes Junior League at Maidenhead.
After a strong showing last year, Witney were promoted to Division 1, and the competition proved tough.
There were victories for Abigail Patrick in the girls’ ten and under 50m freestyle, while and for Matt Floyd in the boys’ 12 and under 50m breaststroke.
Patrick took the club’s swimmer-of-the-match award for her win and personal bests in the 50m freestyle and butterfly.
Floyd was runner-up for his victory and personal bests in the 50m breaststroke and freestyle.
Result: 1 Wycombe 221pts, 2 Maxwell 199, 3 Maidenhead 192, 4 Chelsea 176, 5 Witney 120, 6 Luton 99.

l Wantage White Horses won the first round of the Milton Keynes Mini-League, finishing four points ahead of the host club in this competition for youngsters aged between nine and 12 years.
Wantage’s winners were Cordelia Halfhead, 9, Daniel Jenkins, 9, and Matthew Senior, 12.
The most exciting race was the cannon relay at the end of the tournament, where a boy and girl from each age group compete in a frenetic 8 x 25m freestyle relay.
By the fifth lap, Wantage and Milton Keynes were neck and neck – the narrow lead set up by Halfhead and Jenkins having been clawed back. Rachel Tomsett and Matthew Senior, held on by 2.5seconds.
