CAPTAIN Matt Taylor led the way with bat and ball as Oxfordshire Under 16s edged past London Schools by six runs.
The home side won the toss and elected to bowl first and got off to a decent start when opener Ross Barrett was bowled for nine.
Newcomer Anas Ahmed Ahmed and Chris Jeffcock steadied the ship, when Ahmed was unluckily bowled as a ball trickled back onto his stumps, wickets fell steadily.
But Taylor and under 15 Josh Crossley produced the best partnership of the match as Oxon reached 158-7 from their 45 overs, Taylor falling just short of a half-century.
London Schools went for the target in a positive fashion, but wickets fell regularly throughout.
Taylor finished with 3-29 as the home side were dismissed for 152.
