North Leigh Under 15s suffered two defeats on their two-match tour to Germany – but still had a great time.
The club were hosted by FC Paderborn – a team made up from players whose parents are in the services.
North Leigh raced into a 3-0 lead against their hosts with goals from Shaun Hiles (2) and Aaron Bowerman.
However, the home side hit back to win 4-3.
After a few days of entertainment, which included handling weaponry and having a go in a tank simulator, North Leigh played against Mastbruch.
Up against a strong side which fielded several older players, North Leigh lost 8-3.
North Leigh opened the scoring through Tom Weedon.
But then Mastbruch took control and raced to victory, although Jack Meagher and Weedon again netted for North Leigh.
Tower Hill Stars Under 11s are looking for new players.
The club play in the Giles Sports Witney Youth League on Saturday mornings.
They are holding open training sessions at West Witney Sports Ground in Burford Road every Thursday this month from 6-7.45pm.
