MP Sports Cherwell League - Division 3

Witney Mills were walloped by 177 runs at leaders Dinton 2nd.

They suffered the mother of all batting collapses – from 61-0 to 85 all out against Kelvin Ripley (6-31) and Simon Kempster (3-9).

Shaun Smith (97no), Richard Cripps (46) and Dave Saunders (42no) had taken Dinton to 262-5, after they were inserted.

Kingston Bagpuize stay bottom after they lost by three wickets in a thriller at Bledlow Ridge.

Bagpuize made 238-6 thanks to Matthew Warner (75), Martin Shepherd (54) and Rob Keates (32), then rain reduced Ridge’s reply to 43 overs.

But Paul Brzezicki (71no), Martin Middleton (44) and David Bird (32) set up a final-over victory.

Bledlow Ridge 25, K Bagpuize 12

Dominic Whatman (80) and Thad Cooper (36) helped Aston Rowant 2nd to 209-9 at Great Brickhill.

Arran Aris then hit 48 for the hosts, but Chris Eaton (3-68) took Rowant close to victory before John Cook (43no) and Nick Tweed (30no) rescued a draw at 193-7.

Oxford Downs 2nd saw off Hanborough by 98 runs.

Nick Rivett (78) shone in Downs’ 214-9, Grant Conquest taking 3-51.

Steve Roberts then bagged 5-32 in the hosts’ 116, Gavin Lever making 30 not out.

Bledlow Village hammered Oxford 3rd by 118 runs, despite Mark Murfett (4-63) and Irfan Shah (3-48) starting well.

George Harman (47) and Tom Moore (41) dragged Bledlow to 239-9. Shah scored 35, but James Shirley (4-27) impressed in Oxford’s 121.
