OXFORD MCCU fell to an agonising 101-run defeat at the hands of Middlesex in The Parks yesterday.
Although the winning margin was clear-cut, Oxford lost their final wicket with just a matter of overs remaining.
Resuming on 70-2, Middlesex declared their second innings on 186-9, with Daniel Pascoe taking six of the seven wickets to fall for figures of 6-68.
Oxford lost wickets at regular intervals, only Jak Martin (65) really shining.
But just as it looked like they might survive, Michael Barnard was trapped lbw.
