Kyle Micallef scored a hat-trick of touchdowns as Oxford Saints made it three wins out of three in the BAFA Community League with a 41-13 victory over Nottingham Caesars.
Despite missing a number of key players, Saints proved too strong in the Division 1 clash, with Micallef, who hails from Malta, the star of the show.
Chris Taylor touched down to put Oxford into a first period lead, Johnny Dover adding the extra point.
The second quarter saw Micallef take centre stage.
He went over after a 56-yard catch and run, and then collected a high punt to score a spectacular 72-yard touchdown.
Dover added the extras on both occasions, and was also on target when Chris Taylor scored his second of the game, giving Saints a 28-0 half-time lead.
Ex-Oxford boy Simon Dale reduced the deficit, only for Micallef to quickly seal his hat-trick.
Marco Pinder completed Saints’ scoring with a 60-yard touchdown, and although Dale grabbed his second touchdown of the game, Saints ran out comfortable winners.
They entertain Birmingham Bulls at Abingdon on Sunday, looking to make it four wins from four.
