OXFORD MCCU were made to toil in The Parks yesterday.
Having won the toss, Middlesex’s batsmen were in unstoppable form as Oxford’s bowlers could find no answer on the first morning of their three-day match.
Openers Josh Davey and Sam Robson shared an opening partnership of 192, before Davey was unfortunately run out while backing up.
Robson drove a ball from Dan Conway straight down the ground, and the bowler’s outstretched arm diverted the ball onto the stumps.
Robson went on to hit a sensational 204, before being caught in the deep by Mark Milligan off Conway.
His chanceless innings came off 253 balls and included 27 fours.
Daniel Housego, the Middlesex captain and former Henley player, then added 102 in 140 balls, hitting 11 fours and a six, before he declared.
Oxford reached 36-0 at the close, some 363 runs adrift of their opponents
