Oxford's University Parks will witness music, coloured kit and a pink ball when the third Charles Russell Twenty20 Varsity Match takes place next Friday.
The match, which starts at 4pm on June 4, will see Oxford University and their Cambridge counterparts battle it out for the Armada dish.
As with all games in The Parks, entry is free and organisers hope to attract a large crowd.
Oxford University sports administrator Simon Griiffin said: “The match is very informal and spectators are welcome to sit where they please.
“There will be bars around the boundary serving drinks (in partnership with the Cricketers Arms, Iffley Road) and light refreshments such as strawberries and cream, but feel free to bring picnics of your own.”
- OXFORD were knocked out of the ECB National Club Championship after a four-wicket defeat to Knowle & Dorridge.
Knowle passed Oxford’s total of 212-6 with more than five overs to spare and will now host Banbury in round two.
- DIDCOT’S Dave Allen passed 11,000 runs for the club after making 72 for the second team in their MP Sports Cherwell League Division 8 draw with Abingdon Vale 3rd.
Allen, who first played for Didcot in 1980, is still going strong, but his side couldn’t quite force the win as Vale clung on at 116-9.
