Mhenald Remalano fired a double as Oxford City Schools Under 15s avenged their recent Hobbs Cup final defeat by Vale of White Horse with a 3-0 victory in the Maurice Chalk County Cup final at Letcombe FC.
Both teams were beset with injury problems, but Oxford were first to find their rhythm and they opened their scoring when Bradley Omond showed good control before shooting home off a post.
Vale, who were 2-1 winners when the two teams last met, enjoyed some good possession with Jake John pulling the strings in midfield.
However, Oxford’s talented winger, Gbolly Ariyibi, was starting to pick holes in Vale’s defence and creating space.
Remalano exploited this, using his pace to burst into the box and score twice just before half-time.
The second half failed to match the excitement of the opening period with no addition to the scoring.
