A fantastic unbeaten partnership of 118 in 15.3 overs between Nick Ferraby and Ian Crosby steered Oxford to a seven-wicket victory at High Wycombe in Home Counties Premier Division 1.

Electing to bat, the home side were reduced to 15-3.

However, Matt Gitsham and Ntini Seghal took the score to 79-4 before Gitsham was out after lunch.

Seghal was joined at the wicket by David Cranfield-Thompson and the pair added 83 before the former was out for 46 as Wycombe posted 238-9. Stuart Hole took 4-57 and Shamilal Mendis (3-46) did the damage for Oxford.

In reply, Oxford got off to a solid start with Chris Sandbach (42) and Stefan Van Dyk putting on 63.

Sandbach was caught behind by Cranfield-Thompson off the bowling of Sohail Hussain.

Stefan Van Dyk went for 32, before Stuart Laudat and Ferraby put together a stand of 42, before Laudat was dismissed for 25 off the bowling of Christopher Sketchley.

Ian Crosby then joined Ferraby at the crease and the pair took Wycombe apart.

Ferraby smashed 72 off 56 balls, hitting eight fours and four sixes, with Crosby hitting 64 off 54 deliveries, including six fours and three sixes.

Their efforts saw Oxford ease in with 16 overs to spare.
