Mid Oxon Under 14s completed a historic treble by lifting the Oxford Times Cup with a 5-3 win over Vale of White Horse in the final at Old Woodstock Town.

With the Vale and Warwickshire Cups already in the bag, Mid Oxon fell behind when Liam Painter blocked the keeper’s clearance, and the ball ricocheted into the net.

But Mid Oxon soon drew level when Jacob Hughes finished well from a Mattie Knibbs corner.

And minutes later they repeated the feat when another Knibbs’ corner was superbly volleyed in by Rory Linford Pill.

Matthew Woodley smashed a super 25-yard free-kick into the top corner to haul Vale level after the break.

But Mid Oxon roared back with substitute Tomasz Mazur poking home a cross, before Connor Robbins tapped in from close range.

Josh Woodbridge reduced the deficit by heading in a corner, but Ryan Heap clinched the cup for Mid Oxon by sidefooting under the keeper.

VALE of White Horse Under 15s suffered heartbreak in the Wright Cup semi-final with a 4-3 defeat on penalties by Aldershot at Letcombe FC.

The tie finished 1-1 after extra time, with Conor Harris’s fifth-minute opener for Vale being cancelled out by a Aldershot equaliser 15 minutes later.

With defences dominating, there was no further scoring in normal and extra time.

The first six spot-kicks in the penalty shoot out were successful, with Chris Da Silva, Jake Johns and Tom Morley scoring for Vale.

Wade Rutherford then hit a post, and Aldershot scored to edge ahead.

Billy Cooper then had his spot-kick saved, leaving Aldershot to go through to face Southampton in the final.
