OCA League Divisions 5-11
THIRTEEN-year-old Tom Costley belied his young age to score a maiden league century as Ducklington crushed Westbury 2nd by 269 runs in Division 7.
Ducklington rattled up a massive 361-6, with captain Andy Walker hitting 115.
But young Costley’s 100 not out was the highlight of the match in a faultless innings.
Walker then took 4-16 and Stuart Weston 3-41 as Westbury crashed to 92 all out.
In Division 5, veteran Richard Hart took 5-27 as Horley 2nd edged to a one-wicket victory at West Witney.
Hart’s haul helped to dismiss West Witney for 137, before Horley edged home.
Cairns Fudge returned to winning ways with a six-wicket victory over Great Horwood 2nd.
Andrew Milne scored 68 not out and Vajira Bandara 51 as The Fudge reached 210-4 in reply to Horwood’s 207-9.
Sam Evans (85no) saw Chipping Norton to 187-8 against Chesterton.
And it proved enough for the win as Chesterton fell to 136 all out.
Elsewhere, Kennington edged to a 12-run victory over Minster Lovell 2nd, while on Sunday, Great Horwood 2nd beat Uffington by 60 runs.
Kevin Bowerman took figures of 6-29 as Chalgrove beat Freeland 2nd by five wickets.
Freeland were shot out for 69, which proved no problem for Chalgrove.
Swinbrook saw off Shrivenham 2nd by 57 runs.
Mikey Bellenger (77) helped Swinbrook to 200-8, before Alex Snow (5-29) helped to dismiss Shrivenham for 143 in reply.
Wantage’s Barry Martin claimed fine figures of 6-13 to help his side to a 77-run win over Garsington 2nd.
Oliver Taylor hit 62 in Wantage’s 224-9, before Martin took over with the ball as Garsington fell to 147 all out.
Mark Pennington shone with bat and ball to help Combe 2nd to a 37-run victory over Uffington 2nd in Division 8.
Pennington top-scored with 60 in Combe’s 164-9, before taking 5-15 as Uffington crashed to 127 all out.
Marcham 2nd saw off East Oxford 3rd by four wickets.
Richard Wightman (5-29) helped to dismiss East Oxford for 121, then Dan Pitcher (38) saw Marcham to 122-6.
In Division 9, centuries from Stuart McDowall and Paul Hume saw early-season leaders Faringdon 2nd to 280-3 against Kidlington 2nd.
McDowall hit 115 not out and Hume 111, and Kidlington were restricted to 198-6 in reply.
Witney Swifts 2nd posted a 144-run victory at Minster Lovell 3rd.
Steve Pratley (61), Sam Cross (43) and Don Hare (39no) saw Swifts to a formidable 254-9, Dan Ford taking 5-51.
In reply, Minster were never in the chase as they fell to 110 all out, Dan Spencer scoring 31 not out and Chris King taking 3-7.
Charlbury 3rd thrashed Westcott 2nd by 136 runs in Division 10.
Tim Lowe (87) and Simon Haselgrove (57) helped Charlbury to 285-7, which proved far too much for Westcott, who fell to 149 all out.
Wayne Thomas took 7-45 to help Wolvercote 2nd to a 38-run victory at Garsington 3rd.
Thomas’s haul saw Garsington dismissed for 100 in reply to Wolvercote’s 138-9.
