Alfie Potter said netting the third goal and helping Oxford go up was the best moment of his career.

“This was ten times better than scoring at Anfield (for Havant & Waterlooville).

“Anyway, they said that one was an own goal,” he laughed.

Potter, who has been on a season-long loan from Peterborough United, admitted he wants to stay at Oxford.

“We were just waiting until this was out the way before sitting down to go through it – but I want to stay at Oxford,” he stressed.

“It was a magic game. We were under a lot of pressure.

“It’s just fantastic for all the fans out there.”
