Luke Mayor made a dream start to the season as he took a remarkable five wickets in five balls to help East & West Hendred to victory over Bampton in the Under 13 Ron Maudsley Trophy.

Mayor’s amazing feat ripped through the heart of Bampton’s run chase as they tried to reply to Hendred’s 99-6 from 20 overs, which was led by Joseph Kelly.

Freeland eased to an eight-wicket victory over Didcot.

Jonathan Mearden (30no) led the way for Didcot in their 83-5, but unbeaten knocks of 31 by Paul Inch and 30 by Ollie Hinchcliffe saw Freeland to victory.

Sandford St Martin had little difficulty in overhauling Charlbury’s 42-7.

Ben Taylor led the way to a nine-wicket winwith 24 not out.

In the Gauntlett Goblet eight-a-side competition, Adam Samiullah returned figures of 3-6 for Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts, only to finish on the losing side as Cumnor’s Rhys Probert took 3-3 to see his team to victory.
