Kidlington picked up their third consecutive victory with a five-wicket success over Bicester & North Oxford on Saturday to leave their derby rivals well adrift at the bottom of the table.

It was only in the final ten overs that Kidlington raced to the victory they clearly expected to achieve after inserting their visitors.

Tauqeer Hussain smashed two sixes and as many fours in a quickfire 28 that saw Kidlington home with three overs to spare.

Kidlington dominated the morning session as Tauqeer Hussain, playing against his old club, picked up two early wickets.

Bicester found runs hard to come by as they reached lunch on 80-4. They later slipped to 132-6.

But then Gary Sansome, with an unbeaten 72, found a uesful partner in Steve Lewis who contributed an unbeaten 54 as they added 108 for the seventh wicket to take them to 240-6.

The only bowler to emerge with any credit was Mali Richards who picked up three wickets for 21 runs in eight hostile overs.

Kidlington's opening pair of Richards and Matt Arnull, who went on to make a swashbuckling 58, smashed 95 of the first 15 overs.

From this point on, despite losing Shahbaz Ali and a subdued Andrew Buckingham, Kidlington maintained a steady run rate.

Duncan Bradshaw and Shailesh Prabhu added 71 for the fifth wicket.

With 49 wanted from nine overs, Bradshaw departed to a well-judged catch by Bicester skipper Ian Bryan, before Tauqeer took charge.

Both teams were deducted a point because of a slow over rate.
