Den Sellar (5-5-5) chipped in with 15 dolls as Cricketers claimed a 3-0 victory.
Chasing 27 in the first leg, George were well on target needing only seven from their last three players. But theycould muster only six.
Cricketers took the next two legs easily 36-27, 32-24.
Veteran Norman Holloway smashed off 15 dolls (5-5-5) for Red Lion Marston in their 2-1 win against Cowley Workers in Section 2.
Red Lion won the opening leg 19-15 with Cowley Workers claiming the second 22-21.
Workers set 19 in the final leg, but it was not quite enough as Lion’s anchorman Kevin Stuart clanged off the three dolls needed to snatch the leg.
Barry Williams and John Brown hit sixes for Kidlington Sports B as they came from behind to beat Garsington Sports Club B in Section 3.
Garsington set 23 in the opening leg and it was just enough as Kidlington’s anchorman Dave Williams was left six to tie, but fell just one doll short.
Kidlington responded well to take the next two legs 25-18, 22-19. Williams top-scored with 13 dolls (5-4-4).
Democrats’ Chris Jenkins hit 15 dolls (5-5-5) in vain as they lost 2-1 at Cross Keys.
Democrats won the first leg 19-16, but lost the next two 19-17, 21-11.
In Section 4, Chequers Colin Richardson clanged off a baker’s dozen (4-4-5) as they came away from North Oxford Con Club with maximum points.
Barry Mudd (5-4-3) and Dave Edmonds (5-4-3) both bagged 12 dolls to steer Kidlington Sports to a 2-1 win at home to Red Lion Islip in Section 6.
In Section 9, Donnington scored more dolls than Brill, but still ending up losing 2-1.
Donnington won the opener 13-10 and then set 14 in the next, only for Brill to hit 14 and take the leg in a three-stick shoot-out.
Donnington set ten in the final leg and, after a slow start, Brill’s anchorman Lee Mason was left with four to win.
After missing with his first stick he whipped off the next four to take the game.
Crown B beat Red Lion A Cassington 2-1 in Section 10, but the real story was Crown’s Simon Lawes hitting a five.
He started off without troubling the doll in his first two throws, but then just missed out on hitting his first ever six by knocking the doll off with his next five, just missing with his final stick.
