Oxfordshire under 10s had to settle for a draw against Herefordshire at Stonesfield.
After losing the toss on a great batting track, Oxfordshire were surprisingly asked to bat, and openers Jack Belmont and Ben Hebbert got the home side off to a flying start, putting on 49 in the first ten overs.
They both fell soon after the first drinks break, but fine knocks from Angus Spittles (44) and Dan Newton, plus a quickfire 24 from Charlie Parker, helped Oxon up to a respectable 170-4 in 38 overs.
In reply, Herefordshire went for the target from the start, with Jamie Casstles and Josh Stokes putting on 55 for the first wicket.
However, tight bowling from Robert O'Kelly, Spittles, Belmont and Todd restricted the visitors to 152-4, despite Stokes finishing undefeated on 84.
