Oxfordshire were beaten on run countback after their ECB 50+ Championship clash against unbeaten Wales at Banbury Twenty finished in a thrilling tie.
The two sides made 160-9 from their 45 overs, but with both counties having lost the same number of wickets, the match was decided on which side's score was the highest after 44 overs.
And Wales came out on top with 154 for their fourth successive win compared to Oxon's 151.
Wales had arrived at the final over bowled by Rob Willis, with their last pair needing seven for victory.
But they could manage only six with Ronnie Walton hitting a two off the last ball to tie the scores.
It represented a fine fightback by the visitors after they had been 10-3 following a superb opening spell by Trevor Spindler, who took 2-11 off his nine overs.
Earlier, Phil Garner had top-scored in Oxon's innings with 36 as Peter Hardwick took 4-28.
It leaves Oxon with just one win from their five games.
