Oxford United are giving a month's trial to two non-League strikers to see if they've got what it takes for next season.
Joining the squad when they report back on Tuesday will be Blyth Spartans hotshot Robbie Dale, who smashed 37 goals last season on his way to helping the north-east outfit win the UniBond Premier title along with the Chairman's Cup and Peter Swales Memorial Shield plus former Kettering and Rushden striker Robert Duffy.
At the end of last season Duffy (pictured) was at Stevenage, and he has been recommended to Jim Smith by Malcolm Elias, the former Oxford United youth development officer who is now at Liverpool.
Smith said: "Duffy is a big boy, aggressive and he might be quite useful in the Conference.
"I heard Peterborough tried to sign him last season as well."
"I saw him play for Stevenage against our reserves, and he's been recommended by Malcolm Elias.
"He was playing in the League, but then broke his leg and has been battling back from that."
