Oxfordshire ended their Rileys British Inter-County Championships Division 1 season with a thumping 28-11 victory at Bedfordshire.
The performance showed what might have been as Oxon finished fourth in the table.
Oxfordshire ladies’ B had a terrific 6-0 victory, which put them second in their section, Babs Manning, Kelly Howell, Nicola Curzon, Kim Ledbury (17.87 average), Sharon Wells and Cali Birch successful.
The men’s B drew 6-6, with wins from Dan Butler (27.70), Sean Holley, Ronnie Anderson (26.37), Kit Young, Neal Russell and Les Radford.
On Sunday, Oxon ladies A won 4-2, which also saw them finish second in their section.
Louise Carroll, Karen Williams (19.52), Sandra Cox (19.52) and Deta Hedman (23.38) grabbed the victories.
With the overall lead at 16-8, Oxon men’s A put in their best performance of the season with wins from Joe Palmer (28.25), Pete Hall (25.91), Mark Thomson (25.56), Olly Varney and Andy Thomas.
Preben Krabben took the man-of-the-match with a fantastic 33.40 average – the highest in the division.
Kevin Wilkins (26.04), Nick Cobb (25.77) and Stuart Dutton (26.52) completed a 9-3 success, for a team average of 24.70 and the three bonus points.
- OXFORDSHIRE’S youth match at home to Middlesex on Sunday has been cancelled due to Oxford United’s appearance in the Blue Square Premier play-off final at Wembley.
- THE Greene King Oxford & District Association Summer League starts on Tuesday/-Wednesday May 25/6.
Fixture lists can be collected from the Three Horseshoes, Old Marston on Monday, May 17 from 7pm.
ODDA winter finals will be on Friday, June 4 at Rover Social Club Cowley, all league winners and runners up have been notified.
