SELF-EMPLOYED plumber Alan Hepden scooped the £10,000 Royal Ascot prize in the Racing Post/Tote Ten To Follow competition but that figure was small change compared to his previous win.
For Hepden, of Oxford Road, Old Chalford, near Chipping Norton, was Britain's biggest ever pools jackpot winner in 1990 when he collected a staggering £1,505,443.20.
"It sounds like I'm jammy or something," he admitted after his latest gambling success.
The 52-year-old topped the Royal Ascot list with 200 points after five horses in his ten to follow Nannina (57pts), Yeats (57), Ouija Board (54), Soviet Song (20) and Electrocutionist (12) starred at the meeting.
It left him 20 points clear of his nearest challenger.
Hepden, who continues to work and has no plans to retire, said: "I was glad to win, of course I was. I just happened to have a lucky Ascot."
However, he doesn't have anything in mind to spend his latest windfall on.
"I don't know yet," he said. "I have not really thought about it."
