Blackbird Leys remain the only unbeaten side in the Oxford & District League, sponsored by Yarnton Nurseries Garden Centre, with a 6-0 thrashing of Chipping Norton in Division 3.

Their 50-shot victory was also the biggest win of the day.

Former Oxfordshire president Gordon Roper skipped the highest winning rink with a 33-11 victory for the Leys, who now go top.

Hanborough were unlucky to pick up just half a point in a close encounter against Charlbury.

Despite the heavy points defeat, Hanborough lost by no more than two shots on any rink.

In Division 1, Banbury Central showed why they are favourites to become champions again with a 5.5-0.5 victory over Headington.

Mark Sykes's rink looked like they were heading for a huge victory, as they went 22-0 up after 11 ends, but then conceded 19 shots in the last ten to win 26-19.

West Witney ended Bicester's unbeaten record in Division 2 with a 4-2 victory.

Glyn Coggon's rink led the way with a 29-17 win.
