The third round of the Ron Maudsley Knockout Trophy produced plenty of shocks as the last eight battled it out for a place in tomorrow's play-offs at Bicester & North Oxford.
Banbury, undefeated all season, fell at the hands of Thame, suffering the indignity of seeing batsman Sam Ryan, the county under 13 captain, clean bowled for a duck by his county vice captain Michael Beard.
Beard also bowled Tom White for a duck to finish with 2-6 to put Banbury firmly on the back foot, closing on 72-5 from their 20 overs.
Thame knocked off the runs for the loss of three wickets, Beard and Ryan Murray each making 31 not out.
Horspath saw their title hopes dashed by Cumnor.
Their total of 95-8 proved no problem for Cumnor, who raced home with six overs left, James Lee hitting 32 not out and Jack Metcalfe 27.
There was a much closer game at Bicester & North Oxford, where visitors Combe scraped home by two wickets off the penultimate ball, Robbie Nicholson top-scoring with 30 not out.
