Teenage off-spinner Dickon Morris has stunned Kidlington by quitting the club.
The talented youngster only joined this season from Shipton-under-Wychwood, but now he has made his exit from the Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West club Skipper Mark Strong said: "He has left the club, and I think he is going back to Shipton.
"I think he found it quite tough, to be honest. He has had a lot of punishment."
Morris's departure couldn't have come at a worse time as Kidlington are also without Strong (wedding), Oxford UCCE duo Duncan Bradshaw and Mali Richards and the unavailable Sajid Hussain.
In addition, five 2nd XI players are on a stag weekend.
Tauqeer Hussain returns from injury, and Kiwi all-rounder Mark Owen and veteran Jim Blackford come into the side, with the final place to be decided.
Batsmen Rob Brooks and Alan Crawford are called into Thame Town's line-up for the Division 2 West clash with Gerrards Cross at Church Meadow.
Brooks was a late withdrawal from Thame's drawn game at Kidlington last week after trapping a nerve in an arm.
He replaces Rob Leyton, while Crawford comes into the side in place of his brother Kevin, who has a groin strain.
Skipper Adam Krol, who was pleased with the spirit his side showed against Kidlington, said: "Gerrards Cross are a good side, but so are we and hopefully we will get back on track."
Bottom club Bicester & North Oxford, still looking for their first win, face a daunting task as they visit leaders Farnham Royal.
