Banbury discus thrower Perriss Wilkins returns to competitive action tonight, after completing a four-year ban for doping offences.
Wilkins, 38, was originally handed a lifetime ban by UK Athletics, after failing a drugs test for a second time for the banned anabolic steroid dianobol in 2002.
But this was reduced to four years on appeal by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The lifetime ban was issued by UK Athletics after abnormally high levels of testosterone were found in his body, but Wilkins always denied any wrong-doing.
He provided medical evidence which showed the increase in testosterone levels was down to treatment he was receiving for testicular cancer.
Wilkins was later accused of tampering with a crucial doctors letter, which was always angrily refuted by the athlete and his coach, Mike Hughes.
On appeal, the CAS upheld the reasons behind UK Athletics' ban, but reduced it to four years.
This suspension expired last Sunday, and Wilkins, who has kept up his training, is wasting little time in returning to competition.
He competes for Oxfordshire against a combined universities team at Iffley Road tonight.
There will be an array of talent on show at this evening's meeting, which gets under way at 6pm.
