Oxford Cheetahs, buoyed by their fighting performance at Reading on Monday, will be all out to inflict a second defeat on Coventry Bees in their Sky Sports Elite League encounter at the Stadium tonight (7.30).
The Bees were edged out 47-43 when they visited Oxford at the end of April and there's much confidence within the Cheetahs camp that they sense victory again.
With new skipper Todd Wiltshire in such commanding form he is likely to wipe out the threat of newly-crowned British champion Scott Nicholls who retained his title at Belle Vue on Sunday.
Oxford will be going for their fourth win out of the last five home meetings.
The visitors will be without Danish youngster Morton Risager who has been ruled out for the season after breaking a leg, racing in Poland.
They will use the rider replacement facility to cover for his absence. This means that American Billy Janniro can take one of his programmed rides while the other three will have to be shared amongst their two reserves, Olly Allen and Martin Smolinski.
Team manager Graeme Gordon was delighted by the team's performance at Reading. And they will be confident of picking up their first bonus point of the season when they host the Bulldogs next Wednesday.
"It was superb stuff for both the team and the fans," said Gordon.
"The last two meetings at home we have had seven riders working as a team, the adrenalin was running every body trying 100 per cent and it paid off."
He added: "I don't think I have seen Todd ride so well for years, he's been a brilliant signing for us."
