Struggling Oxford City travelled to Swindon for their third round meeting in Southern League Division 3, but came up against tough opposition, leaving them in third place for the second match running.
There were, however, some positives to draw from, as the team won all but one throwing event.
Ben Kelsey produced the performance of the day, launching the discus out to 43.94m to record a personal best. He also won the shot and the hammer.
An injury to John Lisiewicz in the 5,000m forced him to pull out after leading the first five laps.
City will hope for an improved performance on July 8, when they travel to Plymouth.
