Rachel Brenton's comeback from a long-term ankle injury appears to be complete after the Radley star produced a sensational triple jump in the club's UK National League curtain-raiser on Satur- day.
Brenton, who trains with Oxford City's Olympic triple jumper Nathan Douglas, smashed the UK League Division 4 record as she sailed out to the sixth furthest jump in England this year of 12.80m in the first round at Stoke- on-Trent.
Her performance earned her a call-up for the South of England team to compete in a development meeting in Norway this weekend.
Brenton aside, it was a rather disappointing day for Radley, who could field only seven athletes for the long trip north.
Another positive came in the form of Lucy Boggis.
She clocked the fourth fastest junior time in Great Britain this year in the 100m hurdles, her personal best of 14.6secs enough to secure second place.
Boggis went on to win the javelin with a throw of 37.85m.
Sam Molyneux knocked two seconds off her 400m hurdles personal best, finishing fourth in the B string race in 1.15.2.
Lorna King worked hard for her fifth place in the 1500m, crossing the line in 4.51.9.
Elsewhere, Paula Woodland gained useful points in the A string 400m hurdles, 100m and hammer, while teammate Sam Ahmet, carrying a hamstring injury, filled the gaps to compete in the shot, hammer and discus.
Lyn Ahmet completed the line-up with good displays in the triple jump, 200m and 100m.
