Oxford City Stars face their most important game of the 2009/10 campaign against Invicta Dynamos on Sunday – possibly their last match at Oxpens Road this season.

Stars had mixed fortunes in last week’s play-off matches, beating Bracknell Hornets at home, but losing away.

And after conceding more goals than the Hornets – crucial if the teams are level on points – Stars know that victory against the Division 1 South table-toppers is an absolute must if they are to progress from the three-team round robin group.

Oxford will be hoping forward Alan Green will be fit, having been injured in the home game against the Hornets.

Dean Francis, Nick Oliver and Mike Lucas are rated only 50-50.

Having as many of these players available is crucial to Stars’ chances.

Invicta were convincing winners of the league and in Andy Smith, have arguably the best British player in the division at their disposal.

However, Stars will be buoyed by the fact they did beat them at Oxpens at the end of the league campaign.

But that match was a dead-rubber so not too much can be read into the result.

Stars’ vital game gets under way at 6.15pm tomorrow, with the return match in Kent taking place at 5.15pm a week later.

Stars are hoping for a big crowd ahead of this clash and are urging supporters to try and cheer them to victory.
