Promising youngsters Greg King, Ian Stock and Ben Hewitt are set for debuts when Oxfordshire face Berkshire at Tadley in Pool 3 tomorrow.

They have been named on the bench, but should appear in the second half of a match Oxon will be firm favourites to win.

Chipping Norton centre King was in the England under 18 team who won the Association of European Rugby (AER) tournament in Italy last month.

Prop Stock and back Hewitt are both from Chinnor and have impressed for Oxon's under 20 side.

"It is pointless saying you have a youth policy then never playing them," said coach John Brodley.

"This is an ideal game with the group virtually won to allow to allow the next generation of talent to express itself.

"Hewitt, King and Stock are good young players and they are certain to be an important part of the county rugby scene for years to come."

Victories over Hampshire and Dorset & Wilts have given group leaders Oxfordshire a big cushion, but they will not be letting up.

Brodley added: "Our aim is still to get promoted back into the Shield next year so we need to step up.

"We have always felt as a county we have got the ability to get into the final and get back to where we were last season and that is still very much our ambition."

Chinnor skipper Craig Burrows will lead the side tomorrow, leading a pack comprised entirely of his clubmates.

Oxford Harlequins scrum half Anthony Cope returns after injury, while Quins Andy Henley and Reading's Alex Wallace continue as the centre partnership.

Oxfordshire (v Berkshire, away): (Chinnor unless stated) J Hewitt, Hiscock, Wallace (Reading), Henley, Noyce (both Ox Harlequins), Cathcart (Reading), A Cope (Ox Harlequins), Matthews, Immelman, Whelan, Burrows (capt), Hutchins, Millburn, Brooks, Maxwell. Reps: Stock, Chadbone (Ox Harlequins), Rixon, Soper (Ox Harlequins), Gustaffson (Ox Harlequins), King (Chipping Norton), B Hewitt.
