OXFORDSHIRE companies are being invited to tee off for charity without stepping on to a course.

Golfing2Day, Oxford's only virtual indoor golf club, is hosting a tournament for the Helen & Douglas House Care Team on Friday, May 19.

Using the ProTee Simulator, teams of four will be able to compete over nine holes of the Bangkok Dynasty course under standard PGA rules.

Competitors play their shot with a real club and when the ball hits the projection screen, the computer imagery takes over and tracks its flight.

The entry fee is £70 for a corporate team of four players, enough to provide one-to-one care for a child or young person for about two days.

A nine-hole round takes one hour, with two teams playing at once and tee times are available from 8am to 10pm.

Players must be 18 or over and the venue is Threeways House, Gloucester Green, Oxford.

By entering a team, you will help raise enough funds to pay for a Care Team member for more than two months.

A fully-licensed bar and refreshments will be available.

To register a team, contact Vanessa Fay at Helen & Douglas House on 01865 794749 or vfay@helenanddouglas.org.uk.

Stoke Mandeville is club captain Tony Hill's appointed charity.
