Sean McKeon bagged a brace as Chipping Norton Town boosted their chances of avoiding the drop from the GLS Football Hellenic League Premier Division with Saturday's thrilling 4-2 victory away to Shortwood United.
Although the relegation and promotion issues have yet to be ratified, a third-from-bottom finish could save Chippy from the drop.
McKeon fired Chippy ahead on three minutes from an Andy Harris through ball.
And they doubled their lead 19 minutes later when McKeon scored his second from 25 yards out, his 17th goal of the campaign.
Shortwood then clawed a goal back through Chris Greenough, before Chippy keeper Mark Harris then made a brillant one-handed save from a Tim Haddock shot on the stroke of half time.
After the break, Shortwood levelled when some poor defending allowed Ben Pugh to fire home.
Nine minutes from time, Harris restored Chippy's lead and victory was assured when Dave Skipp smashed home No 4 in injury time.
Former Oxford City striker Danny Wise hammered a hat-trick as Witney United secured a top-six finish for the first time in their short history with a 7-1 win win at home to Highworth.
Wise opened the scoring from Matt Brandish's pass, before keeper Paul Tassell denied Dave Godley and Tom Dingle. Brandish then set up Steve Knight for Witney's second.
The impressive Brandish then provided a killer pass for Wise to grab his second.
After the break, Tassell again kept out Godley, before Craig Pitson made it 4-0.
After Jamie Cook went close with a lob, the visitors pulled a goal back through Phil Corcoran. That sparked Witney into life, with Wise completing his second hat-trick for the club.
Wise went close to his fourth, before substitute Kieran Davis's cross was sidefooted home by Tom Butler for No 6. Cook then wrapped up the rout.
Champions Didcot completed their season with a 3-1 win at Slimbridge.
Ian Concannon netted the opener for Town, shooting home from the edge of the area after fastening onto a pass from strike-partner Stuart Beavon.
After the break, Paul Powell made it 2-0, following good work from Andy Parrott and Jack King.
Stuart Beavon cracked in a 20-yard shot on 69 minutes from Matty Jack's pass to seal victory.
Although Slimbridge clawed one back through John Cant, it was too little, too late.
Abingdon Town ended their campaign by stretching their unbeaten run to five games with a goalless draw at home to Wantage Town.
In a first half of few opportunities, it was Wantage who created the best chance which Paul Day volleyed over the bar when well-placed.
In the second half, Jon Beames, who before the game was presented with the club's supporters' player of the season award, denied Day.
At the other end, Town's Charlie Bough twice went close in quick succession.
The Wantage goalkeeper, Sean Purcell, saved his initial header, before Bough agonisingly crashed the follow-up shot into the side-netting.
