Substitute Ollie Stanbridge scored the late winner as Banbury completed their Southern League Premier Division programme with a 1-0 victory over Gloucester Cuty at Spencer Stadium on Saturday.
Banbury bossed the early exchanges, with striker Andy Baird going close on ten minutes after Ady Fuller found him with a free kick after Jon Gardner's mazy run was brought to a halt just outside the penalty area.
On the hour, Banbury had a good chance when George Redknap broke clear, only for his shot to be saved by Matt Bath.
Minutes later, Matty Gooderick was denied a penalty when he was brought down.
In the 80th minute, the lively Stanbridge was chopped down in the area as he was about to shoot, only for the referee to wave away appeals for a penalty.
However, justice was done in the 89th minute when Stanbridge fired home from a narrow angle, as Banbury finished seventh the highest placing in their history.
Thame United completed their miserable season with a 4-1 defeat at Division 1 West champions Clevedon, Gary Connolly their scorer.
