Here are exciting times ahead for Maurice Massey's kennel after the latest success of Raging Jack at Hall Green on Tuesday.
The black dog, out of Droopys Woods and Southlodge Rage, confirmed his undoubted talent by winning by a head, despite missing his break, to post the fastest time of the night.
In fact, 28.56secs eclipsed the clock of Westmead Jo in the Blue Riband last month.
Jack, owned by Harry and Maggie Webb, is just part of a fine litter that have been making people sit up and take notice at Oxford.
Jack is unlikely to be graded again at Cowley, so the open race scene seems to suit him.
Oxford are to introduce a new series of open competitions called the Oxford 500.
They will be run on a Tuesday and consist of three heats where the first two qualify for the final worth £500 to the winner.
