Oxfordshire warmed up for this weekend's action with an exciting five-run victory over Oxford at Rover Cowley last Saturday.
Skipper Ian Hawtin was the top-scorer in Oxon's moderate total of innings of 156-5 in 50 overs.
But this proved enough, as Oxon's opening bowlers Philip Evans and professional Jamie Hewitt picked up seven cheap wickets between them.
Evans's brother, Ian, offered the main resistance with a top score of 44.
Oxon's play three times this weekend, starting with their traditional game against Oxford University in The Parks tomorrow.
The following day, they travel to face Banbury in a game starting at noon.
These games are a build-up for Oxon's first group match in ther revamped Minor Counties KO Cup against Wiltshire at Westbury on Sunday.
