BCS Bardwell boosted their hopes of winning the Oxfordshire Senior League Premier Division crown by beating leaders Oxford University Press 2-0.
However, second-placed Bardwell, who trail OUP by one point, having played one game more, got off to the worst possible start when defender Keith Harrison was sent off in the first minute.
Minutes later, Ian Edge cracking home the opener on the hour, before Peter Allison doubled the lead after good work from Paul Anderson.
After the break, Bardwell kept up the pressure, but were unable to add to their tally.
Launton Sports kept alive their slim hopes of the title, despite a 2-2 draw against Adderbury Park.
Owen Suter gave Sports an early lead from Wesley Lewis's cross, only for Adie Way to level at the third attempt, after the crossbar and keeper Chris Beckhurst kept out his first two efforts.
Just before the break, Dave Seeney gave Adderbury the lead.
Late on, Danny Green equalised for Launton from the spot after Rob Alexander was felled.
Berinsfield suffered a blow after a 3-2 defeat at Rover Cowley. Ronnie Williams and defender Louis George gave Rover a two-goal cushion, before Berinsfield pulled one back through Michael Cullen.
Chris Fontaine hit No 3 for Rover, with Leigh Wise scoring Berinsfield's second.
Long Crendon's drop fears increased, despite a 2-2 draw against Chadlington.
Trailing 2-0 at the break, they levelled through Richard Jewell and an own goal.
Simon Godfrey netted a double as Watlington Town eased to a 3-0 win against Charlton. Nick Skiller got the other.
A Steve Green goal was in vain as Eynsham lost 2-1 against Haddenham. Darren Gascoigne and substitute Mark Bell netted for Haddenham.
In Division 1, a strike from Steve Doyle sealed a 1-1 draw for Yarnton against Enstone. Richard Clare had fired Enstone ahead.
Jordan Weaver, Gary Lawton and Lewis McGowan were on target as Fritwell won 3-0 at Marston Saints. In Division 2A, OUP Res beat Marston Res 2-1 thanks to goals from Nolan Aslelford and Glen Busby. Darren Smith replied.
