ROGER Sevier kicked Grove to a 30-28 victory over Chipping Norton at Cane Lane in Southern Counties North with a spectacular long-range penalty.
Leading 28-27 late on, Chippy infringed just inside their own half and were duly punished when Sevier landed the kick.
It capped a fine day for the fly half, who landed two more penalties and three conversions in a very tight encounter.
Prop Clint Dearmer, flanker Adam Hastings and full back Alan Awcock scored the tries as Grove finished a creditable fifth in the table.
Witney, meanwhile, secured third spot after defeating Slough 38-0 at Hailey Road.
James Lamb kept up his recent good form with two tries, while there was one apiece for Carl Strutt, Jem McIlveen, Henry Lamb and Carl Campbell.
Tom Harper slotted four conversions to wrap up a fine season that has seen Witney lose just twice in the league in 2006.
