North Leigh's promotion hopes were dealt a crushing blow as Bishops Cleeve scored twice in three minutes at Eynsham Park to secure the runners-up spot in the Premier Division on Saturday with a 2-1 victory.

First-half chances were at a premium on a tricky pitch, although home keeper Richard Barrett denied Cleeve's leading scorer, Kacey Johnstone, with a smart save.

At the other end, a flowing move between Sean Bott and Andy McCabe ended with Lee Keyes's effort going wide.

In the second half, the home side gained the upper-hand, and should have broken the deadlock as Keyes blazed over from ten yards.

And the visitors ruthlessly punished North Leigh's profligacy to take a swift 2-0 lead, James Bayliffe firing home an angled shot, and James Vercesi adding a second.

North Leigh reduced the arrears when Simon Futcher fired home a free-kick, but they could not hit back.

North Leigh's promotion hopes are now out of their hands, and they must rely on other teams slipping up.

Abingdon United now look favourites for third spot after a 3-1 win against struggling Fairford.

They nearly took the lead after only 30 seconds when Mark Simms went close with an overhead kick.

James Organ volleyed wide after pouncing on a loose ball, while at the other end, Johnny Devoille drilled a low shot across goal.

Abingdon took the lead on 34 minutes, Nathan Woodley heading home a corner from Ryan Curtin.

It was 2-0 before the break when Curtin fired home a 20-yard free-kick.

In the second half, Abingdon were gifted a third goal when a poor clearance fell to Anaclet Odhiambo, who clipped the ball past the advancing keeper.

Fairford reduced the arrears 15 minutes from time when Devoille brought down a corner, and his shot bobbled past a defender into the net.

Champions Didcot Town eased home against basement boys Henley with a 4-0 victory.

The home side dominated throughout, and took the lead after 12 minutes after Glyn Jones found Ian Concannon in the box, and he fired home from ten yards.

Didcot had to wait until ten minutes after the break to double their advantage when Paul Powell fired home from 30 yards.

Paul Bedwell, Jack King and Jamie Heapy all missed good chances, before Concannon made it 3-0 after a defensive mix-up.

Jack King added No 4 seven minutes from time, and Didcot could have made it 5-0 from the penalty spot after Powell was upended in the box, but Grant Goodall's strike hit a post.

Witney produced a vastly-improved display to come away from Bristol with the points after a 3-1 win.

They took the lead on 14 minutes with a well-executed goal.

Jamie Cook was the provider, cutting inside a defender before crossing to Danny Wise, who headed home.

Witney dominated possession, and doubled their lead three minutes before half-time, Wise curling home a free-kick.

Six minutes after the break, Witney grabbed their third goal in style.

Cook collected the ball with his back to goal 25 yards out, before turning his marker, beating two defenders, and hammering home an angled drive into the top corner.

The home side pulled one back 15 minutes from time, Benji Tricker netting at the second attempt after Paul Tassell's initial block.

Abingdon Town made it four games unbeaten with a 2-2 draw against.

They got off to a superb start when Charlie Bough put Abingdon 1-0 up after only two minutes.

Town continued to cause problems for Slimbridge's defence.

But eight minutes into the second half, the visitors equalised when Joe Tustain ran on to a long ball before firing underneath Abingdon keeper Jon Beames.

Town were back in front moments later, Paul Jezzard laying a ball into the path of Bough, who rolled in his second of the day.

But Slimbridge hit back again to secure a point when the impressive Tustain wrong-footed Beames.

Carterton warmed up for this week's Oxfordshire Senior Cup final with a 4-0 win.

They led 1-0 at half-time, Mark Threlfall firing home, and after the break, a brace by James Mortimer-Jones and a strike from Mark Odom completed the rout.

Ardley completed their home programme with a disappointing 2-2 draw with Highworth Town.

They led 2-0 at the break through Chris Hill and Phil Martin, but were pegged back in the second half by Highworth, who scored through Mark Godley and Phil Corcoran.
