It was a match of mixed emotions for champion baits man Kevin Green on a remarkable day's angling at Panshill Fishery, on Monday.
Although Green won the day with 42.7.0 of carp on pellet hookbait, he hooked into one of the fishery monster carp and played it for one hour and 45 minutes on a four-pound line and red elastic.
However, he eventually landed it 15 minutes after the whistle, so it didn't count!
The leviathan took the scales round to 24.12.0 and is Kevin's personal best.
Ron Allen was next with 31.8.0 on the pole and maggot, followed by 'Mr Consistent'Johnny Holhweg with 31.5.0 .
In total, four carp of more than 20 pounds were caught in the match, something as far as I'm aware is unprecedented in local matches.
Drennan Oxford angler Gary Barclay won his section in the latest round of the Woodlands View Spring League.
Barclay triumphed with 41.14.0 of carp on the pole at 16 metres with corn hook bait.
His team Drennan Gold are lying in fourth place in the league of 17 teams with one match to go.
They have every chance of finishing in the top three, which would put them in the all-winners final at the same venue.
The champions would advance to the Super League final at Thirsk in West Yorkshire.
Matthew Fisher won the latest open at Jacks Pond Didcot with an all-carp bag of 24.8.0.
He fished the chopped worm and caster on the pole at 16 metres to head the 16-strong field.
Dave Hawkins was second with 19.4.0 on the pole and pellet again all carp.
Rob Guppy used his favourite pole and corn combination to finish third with 19.12.0 of carp and skimmers.
