Garsington's Mick Nash will be heading for Ireland next weekend when he plays for Wales at the Home International Masters Championships at Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club in Dublin.
It is the third time in three years that Nash, 55, has been called up by the national side, and will see him take on the cream of the over 50s from England, Scotland and Ireland.
He is fresh from competing at the Welsh Masters in Swansea last month where he reached the semi-finals to qualify for the Welsh squad.
Nash, who works for the Unipart Group in Cowley, has received some sponsorship, but would appreciate some more support to help pay for the costs of travelling to Dublin. Nash, who plays for the Defence Academy Squash Club in Swindon, does not receive any state funding.
Coached by Neil Thompson of Hithercroft and Nigel Rowe, the Defence Academy's No 1 player, Nash said he was looking forward to next weekend's two-day tournament, which starts on Friday.
"I am delighted to be selected again, as I thought I would miss out for these championships due to personal circumstances and work," said Nash, who only returned to training in January after a six months lay-off.
"It has been hard work, but it made it all worthwhile when I had the call up."
Nash, who got the letter inviting him to Ireland earlier this week, added: "It's a fantastic morale booster after the Welsh Masters."
