Oxford City maintained their challenge for the Spartan South Midlands League championship with a comfortable 3-1 win over Biggleswade United at Court Place Farm on Saturday.
City, who are still eight points clear in the Premier Division, created little until the 28th minute when they took the lead.
It was a neatly-executed goal which saw Justin Merritt feed Mark Jones, who had time to place his shot wide of the keeper.
Harry Burnley might have added to the score, but fired over from Ray Spence's pass.
After 56 minutes, City doubled their lead when Burnley sent over the perfect cross to Spence, who controlled the ball and dispatched it just inside an upright.
Mathew McCartney had a couple of chances for Biggleswade, but they were dealt with by City keeper Carl Wilkins, who enjoyed a quiet afternoon.
After 63 minutes, Spence collected a long ball forward and sped past hesitant keeper Darren Ayre and slotted in.
The visitors reduced the arrears with four minutes to go when Keith Thomas got on the end of a free kick and lofted the ball into the top corner beyond Wilkins.
Oxford City: Wilkins, Brandon, Steedman, Marriott, Craker (Douglas 81), Merritt, Burnley, Jones, Keen (Miller 73), Spence, Gardner (Potter 76). Sub not used: Pilling.
