Banbury United defender Chris Jackson has been ruled out of the rest of the season with a groin injury.

The youngster has been troubled by the injury all season. As well as missing the end of their Premier Division campaign, which continues with tomorrow's trip to King's Lynn, he will miss the Oxfordshire Senior Cup final at the Kassam Stadium on April 25.

"He won't play again this season," said boss Kevin Brock.

"We thought it best that he rests up. There's no hope of him playing in the cup final. It's a real shame for Chris he's had a bit of a stop-start season."

Thame United will be seeking revenge when they travel to Brackley Town in Division 1 West.

When the two sides last met, promotion-seeking Brackley, who are coached by former Thame boss Andy Sinnott, won 5-0.

Thame, who recorded their first league clean sheet of the season against Dunstable on Wednesday, welcome back Robbie Eason, though former England star Neil Webb, who made his debut, misses out due to work commitments.

Dave Tregurtha is ruled out by a back injury.

"They want automatic promotion," said Thame joint boss Richard Searl.

"But we will try and make it as difficult as we can for Andy."

Thame Utd: from Searl, Way, N Rhodes, Eason, Hocking, Lane, Connelly, Fisher, Groves, Moore, Hamilton, A Rhodes, Hopkins, Bradley, Morgan, Freeman.
