ADAM Wootton ensured Oxford City whitewashed Frilford Heath in Section 1 of the Shaw & Co Oxfordshire Foursomes League.

He holed a 20-foot birdie on the 18th hole at Southfield to give him and Larry Holder a one up victory over Paul Dalton and Ian Disney.

And this came after the Frilford pair had won five consecutive holes between the 10th and 14th.

City's John Summers and Will Peddie defeated Ben Miles and Ben Patterson 2 & 1 in match one, recovering from three down to win six holes in a row.

Match three was far more comfortable as Mark Hall and Jon Payne cruised to 4 & 3 victory over Ashley Walton and Phil Collier.

North Oxford's Section 2 draw with Drayton Park came down to the 18th hole on match three.

But neither Simon Kimber and Marc Andrews nor Drayton's Mick Millard and Simon Berry could convert birdie opportunities from 15 feet.

Only youngster Sandy Bolton and Steve Cotter picked up a point as Magnolia Park lost 2-1 at home to Buckingham.

They defeated Steve Clarke and Wilf Herne 3 & 2 in match two, but it was not enough for the hosts.

Another teenager, Ben Cotton, teamed up with Stewart Dalgarno for The Wychwood's only victory at Hazlemere in Section 3, trouncing Keith Taylor and Paul Trench 5 & 4.

HOLDERS Tadmarton Heath have been drawn at home to Magnolia Park in the preliminary round of the Knock-Out Trophy.
