CHINNOR chairman Jeff Deighton said securing the South West 1 title felt even better than England winning the World Cup.
And he revealed they have already started planning for National League rugby.
Deighton said: "Saturday was the best day of my rugby life. I've been involved with rugby since 11 years of age and I'm now 63.
"To me winning the league is even better than England winning the World Cup.
"I was at the World Cup in Sydney and that was a terrific game, but I think this was even better.
"I'm absolutely ecstatic. It's beyond our wildest dreams to be promoted to the National League.
"I think we had about 400 people here and the atmosphere was fantastic."
Deighton is in his third season as chairman and first joined as a player in 1974.
He has seen plenty of changes since then, not least the move to Kingsey Road in Thame, but there will be much happening in the immediate future.
Deighton said: "We've got a lot of meetings to go to now. We've got to unravel what this promotion means for us.
"We have got to put a sound system in and get an electric scoreboard.
"We are going to have to have a bigger squad as there will be more games to play.
"We'll also need another coach and more medical services.
"We are now one of the top 70 clubs in the country and the only village club in National Division 3."
He added: "Our sponsors have been superb and one or two of them have said they will double their amount if we went up."
Deighton has no doubts as to why Chinnor have done so well this season.
"It's due to our strength in depth," he said.
"We have got 11 players in the first team squad who have come up through the ranks.
"We had our mini players acting as a guard of honour and ball boys on Saturday.
"They have seen the first team do so well and I think it will inspire a lot of them."
