WITNEY warmed up for the Oxfordshire Cup final with an impressive 37-13 victory at Beaconsfield in Southern Counties North.
Outside centre James Lamb gave Witney the lead with a barmstorming try, which Tom Harper converted.
Harper's penalty made it 10-0, but an errant long pass from fly half Matt Watts set up a converted try for the hosts.
Beaconsfield added a penalty before the break, but Witney looked comfortable thanks to a rare Alan Richens try that Harper converted.
Witney then showed more adventure and flanker Carl Campbell fed full back Johnny Wheater to score in the corner.
The game was put safe with a typically crashing try from Watts and a great break from replacement Joe Rowles, sprinting in from the 22.
Harper added the conversion and a further penalty while Beaconsfield landed a memorable drop goal.
Witney are now guaranteed to be Oxfordshire's highest finishers in the division after Grove's disappointing 19-0 loss at Olney.
Hosts Chipping Norton gave leaders Redingensians a good battle before losing 20-12.
