Rover Blackbird secretary Colin Trevis has called on the Sam Waters Cup organising committee to hold the final at an earlier time after violence flared at Sunday's cup final between Oxford side Rover Blackbird and Banbury-based Dynamo Toby.
The game, at Oxford City's Court Place Farm ground, kicked off at 5pm.
"I just couldn't believe they still wanted the game to kick off so late," said Trevis, who has been secretary since the start of the season.
"I know they brought it forward from the original date which was the bank holiday, but I still think what they need to do is to either have the kick-off at 10.30am or noon.
"The trouble with it being so late is that some people use it an excuse for an all-day drinking session.
"The last time this sort of thing happened trouble flared at the 2001 final between Six Bells Kidlington and Trades Athletic that involved another Banbury side."
