Alchester's bid to reach Twickenham in their first season of competitive rugby continues against Cirencester at Marston Ferry Road on Saturday (2.30).
The RFU Senior Vase quarter-final clash is likely to be Alchester’s toughest of the season, but they will hope a large home crowd can tip the balance.
Cirencester are third in the Gloucester Premier Division, which is the equivalent level to Alchester’s league – the BB&O Premier.
They have won 15 out of their 19 league games, compared to Alchester’s 11 wins from 18.
Alchester coach Chris Kimber said: “Cirencester are quite big in the forwards and like to bosh it up a bit.
“They have got a good No 10 who can kick from anywhere and two or three Fijians, but we don’t know if they are going to play.
“We have got a strong side and a good bench, which means a lot.
“It looks pretty good for us. I just hope the pitch is not as muddy as it was for the Drifters game.”
