Lock Harry Jackman scored a brace of tries as Chinnor bounced back with a 46-8 victory over Coney Hill in National 3 South West.

The seven-try demolition boosted morale after the previous week’s 22-7 defeat to Exmouth and saw Chinnor regain fourth spot.

Hooker Alan Cawston scampered over for Chinnor’s opening try on two minutes.

Fly half James Cathcart made it 8-0 with a penalty, but Coney Hill levelled with a penalty from Rory Baker and try from full back Danny Davis.

Wing Ben Farr unselfishly created an overlap before sending Jackman under the posts on 23 minutes, Cathcart converting.

Full back Alex Wallace entered the line at pace to send wing James Serrano bashing his way over and Cathcart’s conversion made it 22-8 at the break.

Coney Hill skipper Craig Ballinger was sin-binned, then Farr motored in for Chinnor’s fourth try.

The match came alive in the final stages, with No 8 Tom Mowbray scoring a pushover try on 72 minutes, converted by replacement Ben Hewitt, after visiting flanker Ryan Nicholls was yellow-carded.

Scrum half Toby Prescott darted through for try No 6 on 76 minutes, converted by replacement Ben Ramsdale.

Jackman grabbed his second after Baker was sin-binned.
