North Leigh 1 (Allen 87)
AFC Hayes 1 (Maharjan 11)
Substitute Chris Allen struck an equaliser three minutes from time as North Leigh shared the points with a Hayes side, who belied their lowly position in Division 1 South & West on Saturday. In a frenzied opening Danilson Vincente scuffed a shot wide, while at the other end Matty Taylor saw his close-range effort palmed away by Hayes keeper Simon Grant.
The visitors took the lead with a stunning 20-yard strike from Dennis Maharjan and could have doubled their lead on the half-hour as Andre Costa struck a blistering shot against the angle of post and bar.
Andy McCabe’s apparent equaliser was denied by an offside ruling.
In the second half, Simon Futcher rattled the visitors’ crossbar before North Leigh were rewarded.
The tireless Aaron Posey found Taylor, who sent Allen clear and he made no mistake with a powerful strike.
North Leigh : Lonsdale, Hole, Caton, Posey, Huxley, Dodds, Reardon (Saunders 78), Burnell (Sanders 85), Taylor, McCabe, Futcher (Allen 66).
Attendance: 47.
